Procedure for the conferral
1 - Administrations, public and private entities, institutions, and organizations of the National Service that have registered with the PIB (at the link https://pib.protezionecivile.it/PIB/Home) through a formally appointed representative, who may access the PIB procedure using SPID and/or CIE at the following link https://bo-benemerenze.protezionecivile.it/ and submit nominations online, either collectively or individually, for the certification of public merit. The specifics regarding the representatives authorized to initiate the process for these awards are set forth in the Decree of the Head of Department dated May 8, 2024.
2 - The Civil Protection Department submits all nominations to the Permanent Commission.
3 - The Permanent Commission submits the nominations evaluated positively to the Head of Department.
4 - The Head of the Civil Protection Department proposes the list of candidates to the President of the Council of Ministers who issues a decree to make official the names of the recipients, ie people who will be granted the certificate of public merit.
5 - The Civil Protection Department takes care of updating the general register of the winners and publishes it on its website.
6 - The Civil Protection Department, at its expense, sends the diplomas to the recipients.
7 - In possession of the diploma, the awarded may, at their own expense, buy the insignia.
The organism that requests individually or collectively the certificate of public merit must keep the documentation concerning the request for the award for at least 5 years from the date of granting.
