The decisive moment at "Didacta Italia 2026"

The Department’s project to introduce civil protection in schools

Didacta 2026

The Civil Protection Department will attend Didacta Italia for the first time. This event, dedicated to training and innovation in the education system, is scheduled to take place from March 11 to 13 at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence.  It offers an important opportunity to engage with teachers, principals, and school staff. During the event, the Department will present “The decisive moment,” an educational project launched in 2023 that aims to introduce civil protection education to lower secondary schools across Italy.

In addition to the comic series, which forms the core of the initiative, teachers will have access to a range of educational tools that allow them to develop personalized and multidisciplinary learning paths. These resources include video lessons, in-depth video content, worksheets, and the card game “Make your choice,” designed to promote active learning through scenarios and decision-making related to emergencies. Teachers will also be able to explore ways to integrate the project’s content into civic education teaching activities.

On the final day of the event, two workshops will also take place: At school for prevention with civil protection: together in the decisive moment,” developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit, and The decisive moment: from comic book to card game. A civil protection learning path for schools.” during which the connection between the comic series and the card game will be explored. These are two educational tools that support the development of both disciplinary and transversal skills in students.

Teachers will be encouraged to actively contribute to the growth of "The decisive moment" project by completing the online survey and sharing their suggestions and experiences regarding the use of materials in teaching activities.
