Italian Civil Protection Dispatches Second Humanitarian Aid Flight

The aircraft will carry personnel and supplies to assist in rescue operations in Venezuela

The Civil Protection Department continues to coordinate activities to transport personnel and materials essential to addressing the emergency caused by the severe earthquakes that have hit Venezuela.

Tomorrow morning, Saturday, June 27, a second aircraft from the Italian Air Force will take off. It will be carrying self-supporting tents for humanitarian aid, along with personnel and other components that will complete the TAST (Technical Assistance and Support Team) module for the firefighters. This team is responsible for providing logistical and cartographic support at the operational base in the field.

The aid will be included on the flight departing today. This flight will carry personnel from the regional Health Services and Firefighters, who are tasked with search and rescue, medical assistance, and logistics. Additionally, staff from the Department and the Crisis Unit of the  Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will also be on board.

The Civil Protection Department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Ministry of Defense, will continue its efforts to assess needs and provide support to the affected population.
