Earthquake at sea: Civil Protection Crisis Unit reports no damage

The Crisis Unit of the Civil Protection Department, chaired by Department Head Fabio Ciciliano, convened at 1:00 AM, less than an hour after a seismic event occurred at sea, recorded at 12:12 AM. Representatives from all regions of Southern Italy, along with the National Fire and Rescue Service and the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), participated in the meeting via video. No region reported any damage to people or property as a result of the strong tremor.

The Department's Situation Room will keep monitoring developments in coordination with civil protection structures in the affected areas.
