National Service's involvement

To facilitate the safe arrival of more than half a million young pilgrims, a comprehensive organization involving thousands of people and resources has been established. The National Civil Protection Service is implementing an extensive system to ensure safety, assistance, and support before, during, and after the event.
Forces on the ground. Over 3,000 civil protection volunteers are deployed throughout the area to ensure the reception and assistance of pilgrims, as well as to provide medical support. Among them, 2,500 volunteers come from other regions or belong to national civil protection organizations, supported by 300 volunteers from the Lazio region and 250 from Rome. Additionally, there are 500 volunteers from the Holy See, alongside 1,000 local police officers, law enforcement officers, and firefighters. Approximately 4,000 stewards and service personnel are also present to assist the pilgrims. This collaborative effort has been made possible through the contributions of over 100 specialized companies.
Reception and hospitality. The reception of young participants is organized through a network involving 370 parishes, 400 schools, 40 extracurricular facilities, and 500 families. In particular, one of the main accommodation centers is Fiera di Roma, where over 22,000 beds have been set up. To ensure adequate catering services, 20 dedicated points have also been set up, supported and assisted by 3,500 local businesses.
Healthcare. The healthcare plan for the event has been carefully organized with specific resources in place. Along the Jubilee routes, there will be approximately 40 ambulances staffed with medical and nursing personnel, as well as 11 Advanced Medical Posts, six managed by Ares 118, four provided by voluntary organizations, and one operated by the Joint Operations Headquarters-COVI. There will also be 420 teams, each composed of three qualified rescuers, equipped with semi-automatic defibrillators and first aid backpacks. A medical center has been established in Tor Vergata, located near the area designated for ecclesiastical authorities. This center will feature a pneumatic tent provided by the Civil Protection Department and include two ambulances.
Tor Vergata area. The main site of the event spans an area of 96 hectares, equivalent to over 521,000 square meters, and is accessible through three entrance gates. This space has been organized to accommodate the large influx of pilgrims expected for the jubilee event on August 2 and 3.
The area is equipped with healthcare and logistics stations, accessible toilets, drinking water distribution points, and misting systems. Mobile phone signal strength has been enhanced throughout the site.
Special attention has been given to inclusivity, with four designated calm areas created specifically for people with disabilities, staffed by trained personnel.
Additionally, three helipads have been activated for different purposes: one is reserved for the Holy Father, another is dedicated to medical emergencies, and the third is for other logistical needs.
Civil protection camp. A camp has been established within the City of Sport in Tor Vergata, spanning approximately three hectares. It will accommodate about 4,000 individuals, including civil protection volunteers, law enforcement officers, and personnel responsible for organizing and securing the event.
