The volume “Criteri e soluzioni per la progettazione di interventi integrati e sostenibili” is now online
The research is part of the agreement between the Department and ReLUIS
The goal of the study conducted by the ReLUIS Network of University Laboratories of Earthquake Engineering in cooperation with the Civil Protection Department is to plan the redevelopment of building heritage. They aim to improve existing buildings' seismic capacity and energy efficiency using intervention techniques. The results of this study have been compiled in the volume "Criteri e soluzioni per la progettazione di interventi integrati e sostenibili" (Criteria and solutions for the design of integrated and sustainable interventions).
The project, which involved 42 research units across the country, examined 12 case studies representing typical Italian public and private buildings. The case studies included four residential buildings (two in masonry and two in reinforced concrete), four school buildings (two in masonry and two in reinforced concrete), two strategic public buildings (one in masonry and one in steel), one masonry building subject to significant overcrowding, and one industrial building in steel. Several alternative solutions were hypothesized for each case, emphasizing both rapid-impact and low-impact retrofitting interventions.
The publication is aimed primarily at administrations and professionals involved in planning interventions on buildings that need operational indications in solving practical problems and evaluating the time and cost of intervention in relation to the solutions to be adopted.
The research presented in this volume is part of the activities included in the agreement signed between the Civil Protection Department and ReLUIS. The goal is to develop operational tools and guidelines that promote the implementation of sustainable and integrated strategies for seismic risk mitigation and energy efficiency of the national building heritage.
The book and detailed reports on the 12 case studies are available on the ReLUIS website.
