Socio - medical operators for Covid-19
Selection procedure for 1,500 professionals to support regional health facilities in implementing the measures necessary to contain the Covid- 19 emergency.
For the setting up of the Health Unit, the procedure for the selection of 1500 socio-medical operators is open:
- 500 will work in care homes for elderly people, nursing homes for elderly people, residences for disabled people for a four-week consecutive period;
- 1,000 will work in the prisons identified by the Ministry of Justice, Department of Prison Administration and Department of Juvenile and Community Justice until July 31, 2020, the end of the state of emergency.
Participation in the Socio-Health Unit is on a voluntary basis and is open to employees of the National Health Service, employees of health facilities, including non-accredited workers and freelance professionals.
Requirement for participation is the qualification of “Socio - medical operator" according to the Agreement between the Minister of Health, the Minister of Social Solidarity and the Regions and Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano of February, 22 2001 (GURI April 19, 2001, n.91).
The selection procedure will be open by filling in the form available on this website from 6:00 PM of April 20, 2020 until 8:00 PM of April 22, 2020.
In order to identify the operators to be employed, the seniority level of the qualification of “ Socio- medical Operator" will be taken into account.
For operators allocated to prisons, priority will also be given to those not employed and/or holding positions conferred by the National Health Service or by structures accredited by the National Health Service.
The assignment will be carried out with priority in the Region where the operator is currently employed, where possible and on the basis of the needs represented by the Regions.
Participation provides for the refund of travel expenses and a flat-rate solidarity premium for each day worked. The operators will also be guaranteed food and accommodation on site. The regions where the operator will operate will provide everything.
In case of a suitable profile, the operator will be contacted by the Department to define the details of employment.
