These days, the National Service of Civil Protection is dealing with the critical conditions resulting from the severe wave of bad weather affecting our country, which has particularly impacted the region of Emilia-Romagna.

Around 1,000 volunteers have been working tirelessly in Emilia-Romagna since October 19. They include volunteers from the region, national organizations, and regional mobile units deployed to assist the areas impacted by the severe weather. These volunteers are trained and specialized personnel equipped to respond to emergencies. Their primary activities in this situation involve water pumping and rescue operations.

More than 1,000 volunteers were involved in the relief efforts, with over 500 volunteers deployed by Emilia-Romagna and nearly 200 from national organizations outside the region, such as the National Alpine Association-Ana, National Emergency Support-SNE, Italian Red Cross-CRI, Prociv-Arci, Misericordie, and National Association of Public Assistance-Anpas. Additionally, more than 300 officers and volunteers from the mobile units of various regions, including Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Umbria, Autonomous Province of Trento, Lazio, Lombardia, Campania, Veneto, and Valle D'Aosta contributed to the efforts.

Even in this emergency, hundreds of people, driven by a spirit of solidarity, have made themselves available to help those affected. However, it is crucial to intervene in an organized manner and act where needed, with the appropriate skills and ensuring maximum safety. In our country, there are over 5,000 civil protection volunteer organizations. You can visit this page for information on how to become a volunteer.
