Open Day at the Civil Protection Department on January 26

On Sunday, January 26, 2025, the Civil Protection Department will open its doors to the public. This is a unique opportunity to explore the spaces where our territory is monitored daily, and crises are managed during emergencies.
The special opening will also honor Giuseppe Zamberletti, the founding father of modern Italian civil protection, marking six years since his passing.
Our experts will take visitors through the monitoring rooms for seismic, volcanic, and hydro-meteorological activities to demonstrate how risk forecasting and prevention are conducted.
Visitors will also see how the Sala Situazione Italia—Italy Situation Room—operates. This room collects and verifies information from across the country 24 hours daily. It reveals the operational core of civil protection, where interventions during major national emergencies are coordinated.
Four tours are available, subject to availability: 9:30 am, 11:30 am, 2 pm, 4 pm.
The visit will last about 90 minutes.
