The IT-alert test in the Lazio region scheduled for tomorrow, 21 September, has been postponed due to the yellow alert for rainstorms foreseen over the region. The test days, as planned, could change in case the regional civil protection systems are active for alerts in the days of the test or for emergency situations. The new date will be published on  www.it-alert.gov.it

The test is confirmed for tomorrow in Aosta Valley and Veneto.

The test phase started in June with the first five tests in Tuscany, Sardinia, Sicily, Calabria and Emilia-Romagna and continued on 12 September in Campania, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Marche, on 14 September in Piedmont, Apulia and Umbria, and on 19 September in Basilicata, Lombardy and Molise.

The calendar of the following days is scheduled as follows:

  • 26 September in Abruzzo and the Autonomous Province of Trento
  • 27 September in Liguria
  • 13 October in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano

Around 12 PM, a test message will arrive on the mobile phones, switched on and with phone connection, of people in the area involved.

The purposes of this activity is to raise awareness of the new system among people who may be involved in emergency situations once IT-alert will be operational, to verify its functioning in relation to the different phone types and operating systems, and to collect feedback from users through a questionnaire to implement the service.
