Instagram, a new profile to share Civil Protection stories
The Department expands its social media outreach to foster a culture of prevention

The Civil Protection Department has launched its Instagram profile to enhance its social media presence, in addition to the profiles created on Facebook and X in 2018.
The chosen date for the launch is significant, as it marks the anniversary of the National Civil Protection Service, established on February 24, 1992, by Law No. 225. This timing highlights the symbolic importance of this new communication tool.
In addition to the activities and initiatives of the Department, the profile @dpcgov_official will showcase key topics, experiences, and best practices promoted by the entire National Service. It will highlight the contributions of its various components and operational units, while sharing the daily work involved in forecasting, prevention, and emergency management aimed at protecting people, animals, and the environment.
Even on Instagram, the Department's mission remains central: to promote a culture of prevention and share trustworthy information that encourages informed behaviors and reduces exposure to risks before, during, and after emergencies.
