The Gold Medal to the Merit of the Public Health to the Civil Protection Department

The President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, awarded the Head of the Department, Fabrizio Curcio, the Gold Medal to the Merit of the Public Health awarded to the Civil Protection Department during the ceremony at the Quirinale Palace this morning, April 27, 2023.

The medal is due to the commitment " at the forefront during the Covid-19 emergency, particularly with regard to the voluntary activities carried out on the territory by the various branches of the Civil Protection system".
"The Department has demonstrated considerable self-sacrifice in the organisation of relief and assistance to the population affected by the outbreak of the pandemic, making the Italian Civil Protection system an admired and respected model, and its volunteers an example of professionalism, dedication and sacrifice," is the motivation.

During the ceremony, in addition to the Gold Medal to the Merit of the Public Health, those for Excellence for Public Health were also awarded.
