Fuel pellets emergency, restrictions on navigation, fishing and bathing
The restrictions imposed by the Coast Guard of Piombino and Porto Santo Stefano concern the stretches of sea involved in the activities of material recovery
Ordinances 50/2020 and 37/2020, forbidding navigation, fishing, bathing and any other activity, both underwater and on land are now online. The Ordinances prohibit any activity, both underwater and on land, at a distance of less than 1 mile from the naval units of the Italian Navy engaged in the search, location and recovery of secondary solid fuel pellets (ecoballe) (CSS) lying on the seafloor in the Gulf of Follonica.
The measures will last from 6 to 31 August 2020, from dawn to dusk, up to the end of the activities.
The sea areas affected are bounded by the conjunction of the coordinate points indicated in the two Ordinances.
