The Department opens its doors for Made in Italy Day 2026
On April 15, the Department welcomes students from Rome’s Convitto Nazionale as part of the National Made in Italy Day celebrations

Students from Rome's Convitto Nazionale will join the Department's Open Day on April 15, held in conjunction with National Made in Italy Day 2026. This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT), is part of a broader program of celebrations showcasing Italian skills, creativity, and excellence.
The visit focuses on technology, prevention, and risk awareness. During the open day, the Civil Protection Department’s operational headquarters welcomes students on a guided tour of its facilities, where staff collect, analyze, and coordinate information on natural and human-induced risks across the country on a daily basis. The visit gives students the chance to learn about the Civil Protection System, see how staff process monitoring data, operate the national alert system, and organize emergency response during major emergencies. The initiative introduces young people to risk management issues and promotes greater awareness of prevention and active participation.
The visit will include discussions on the role and importance of civil protection volunteers within the National Youth Panel, as well as on initiatives promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities both in the planning phase and during emergencies, and on the distinctive features of the civil protection system in an international context.
According to MIMIT guidelines, the Day’s events aim to recognize and highlight the social, economic, and cultural role of Italian organizations, promote the value of the country’s talents, and foster dialogue among institutions, schools, and citizens. April 15 is a national celebration dedicated to ingenuity. The date was chosen to mark the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo da Vinci, a figure widely regarded as a symbol of Italian innovation and creativity.
Each year, MIMIT coordinates a wide-ranging programme of initiatives involving schools, businesses, local authorities, and institutions, aimed at showcasing the wealth of skills and creativity that distinguishes the Italian system.
The participation of students from Rome’s Convitto Nazionale reflects the institutions’ commitment to actively engaging younger generations in activities related to active citizenship. The initiative offers an opportunity for direct dialogue with professionals working daily in public service and civil protection, providing a concrete insight into the skills and technologies that underpin the functioning of the Civil Protection System.
