Covid-19 Emergency, 60 Albanian nurses at work in the Marche region

They will provide service in residential and nursing homes

A medical task force of 60 Albanian nurses arrived yesterday afternoon in the Marche region to strengthen the assistance capacity in the area, particularly in residential and nursing homes.

Upon arrival at Fiumicino, the nurses, part of the second medical team coming from Albania, were welcomed by the Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio and the Director of Operations for Emergency Coordination of the Civil Protection Department Luigi D'Angelo.

«They will save citizens' lives and at the same time help our doctors to take a breath after more than a month - about 40 days of lockdown, fighting the coronavirus. We would never succeeded without this support from abroad» said Di Maio regarding this "second act of friendship from Albania”.

The team of Albanian nurses, mostly Italian-speaking, has been divided among the 5 health areas of the Marche region and each group has been assigned to the district directors who allocated the destinations in the health and care structures of the territory according to their needs.
