On February 24, the Department for Youth Policies and Universal Civil Service published a call on its website for 65,964 volunteers to participate in universal civil service projects in Italy and abroad during 2026 and 2027.

Among the selected projects is “I don't take risks 365: good civil protection practices 4,” a program promoted by ANPAS in collaboration with the Civil Protection Department and the CIMA Research Foundation. It offers 20 candidates the chance to choose from three 12-month projects:

I don't take risks 365: volunteering, citizenship, and institutions 4” will involve four volunteers, two of whom will be employed in Rome at the Department's operational headquarters and two at the Cima Research Foundation office in Savona. They will help promote a culture of prevention by raising awareness of natural and human-made risks and encouraging active citizen participation. They will also learn how the civil protection system works, how the territory is monitored, and what tools are used in the prevention, management, and response phases of emergencies.

I don't take risk 365: volunteering 4” will take place at ANPAS offices in several locations in Tuscany and will involve eight volunteers in activities to disseminate good civil protection practices aimed at informing the population about behaviors to adopt before, during, and after emergencies.

I don't take risks 365: the population 4” will give eight young people the chance to work on civil protection planning in several municipalities in Abruzzo and raise awareness among citizens about the risks affecting the area.

The twenty volunteers who will take part in the civil service program dedicated to the “I don't take risks” campaign will gain first-hand knowledge of the activities of the National Civil Protection Service, both in ordinary circumstances and during emergencies. This will be a valuable opportunity for personal and professional growth, allowing them to place their skills, enthusiasm, and time at the service of the community.

All young people between 18 and 28 years old – who are Italian citizens, citizens of a European Union member state, or citizens of a non-EU country legally living in Italy – can apply exclusively through the online application platform by 2 p.m. on April 8.
