Civil Protection at Salone Internazionale del Libro in Turin

The Civil Protection Department, with the contribution of the civil protection structures of the Piedmont Region and the Metropolitan City of Turin, will attend the Salone Internazionale del Libro in Turin for the first time, from Thursday, May 18 to Monday, May 22, 2023 at Lingotto Fiere.

"Attraverso lo specchio" the theme of the 35th edition of the Salone, offers a cue to take a journey through the history of civil protection, to enhance the role that the memory of events that shaped Italy in the construction of an individual and collective awareness of the country and the risks to which it is exposed.

At the civil protection stand (in the Oval Pavilion), visitors will walk through a timeline - made up of texts, photos, images and videos - through the main emergencies that, from the Messina earthquake of 1908 to the present day, have marked the evolution of civil protection and the history of our country: from rescue operations, to the coordination of emergency response, to the development of systems for forecasting and monitoring risks. 

A walking tour through earthquakes and floods, volcanic eruptions and environmental disasters will be a chance for everyone also to become more aware of the role they can play in protecting themselves, taking care of others and their territory. 

It is possible to visit the Salone from from 10 am to 8 pm on Thursday, Sunday and Monday, Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 9 pm. All information available on the Salone Internazionale del Libro website.

On Saturday May 20, in the Bronze Hall of Pavilion 2, from 6:45 to 7:45 pm, the meeting "Tra rischi e sostenibilità: lo specchio del nostro futuro" will be attended by the Head of the Civil Protection Department, Fabrizio Curcio.
