Cadore hosts the 17th Civil Protection Ski Championship
Athletes from the Civil Protection world coming from all over Italy compete on the slopes of Auronzo and Comelico Superiore. The event is also an opportunity to exchange professional experiences.
"I am really pleased to share with you a traditional appointment among the most awaited by the whole National System, such as the Civil Protection Ski Championships that will be hosted in the Veneto Region, among the Belluno Dolomites. In this region, which only two months ago was hit by the heavy wave of bad weather that has particularly affected Venice and the other municipalities of the lagoon and the coast".
These are the words with which the Head of the Department Angelo Borrelli presented the seventeenth edition of the Championship, the sporting event that will take place until Sunday, January 26, 2020 in Auronzo di Cadore and Comelico Superiore, which aims to offer those who are active in a civil protection organization or are members of a voluntary organization the opportunity to test not only their sporting strength in competitions but above all to exchange professional experiences.
The championships will see the participation of ski and snowboard enthusiasts from all over Italy who will compete in the four specialties of Alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, ski mountaineering and snowboarding, divided between men and women in categories according to age.
The event therefore aims to bring together many volunteers, who will have the opportunity to deepen together experiences and projects of Civil Protection, but also to make Cadore even more and better known. Bringing the 2020 Championships to Auronzo and Comelico, stressed the Councillor for the Environment and Civil Protection of the Veneto Region, Gianpaolo Bottacin, "is part of a single strategy with which we aim to emphasize the importance of areas such as these, which can not be limited in their legitimate expectations of tourism growth nor subject to further constraints, which would only lead to depopulation with inevitable risk to the territory also from the point of view of safety.
The event can be followed on the website https://www.campionatiscipc2020.it/ and on the Department's social profiles.
