Niscemi: 25 social housing units allocated to residents displaced from their homes

Twenty-five apartments with rent caps, intended for low-income households that were displaced from their homes after the landslide, were assigned today through a social housing call for applications issued by the Municipality of Niscemi.

Thanks to the close collaboration between the Municipality, the Commissioner’s Office, and the Region of Sicily, the review of an old call for applications was expedited by establishing new requirements. This collaboration directly resulted in 71 people securing stable housing in new apartments under rent-controlled agreements. Furthermore, with the support of the Italian Association of Private Construction Contractors, the apartments will be delivered fully furnished and ready for immediate occupancy.
