Coronavirus the state of the infections in Italy

The number of Intensive Care Unit patients is decreasing

The Department keeps up its daily commitment working with all the components and operational structures of the National Civil Protection Service.

In particular, with regard to health monitoring operations to contain the spread of Coronavirus across national territory,  to present date, that is April 18, the total number of infected persons is 175,925, with an increase of 3,491 new cases compared to yesterday . The current  total  of  positive cases  is 107,771 resulting in an increase of 809 cases.
Today’s number of patients in intensive care unit is  2,733, recording a decrease of 79 (-79) patients compared to yesterday.
25,007 people are hospitalized with symptoms, that is 779 less than yesterday.
80,031 people, equal to 74% of all infected cases, are in isolation without symptoms or with mild symptoms.
We report  482 new victims today, which brings our national death toll to 23,227. The total number of  discharged patients  who have recoverd from the virus has risen to 44,927, an increase of 2,200 people compared to yesterday.
In detail, the number of infected people amounts to 34,195 in Lombardy, 13,584 in Emilia-Romagna, 14,223 in Piedmont, 10,444 in Veneto, 6,470 in Tuscany, 3,412 in Liguria, 3,172 in the Marche, 4,282 in Lazio, 3,045 in Campania, 1,985 in the autonomous province of Trento, 2,694 in Puglia, 1,403 in Friuli Venezia Giulia, 2,171 in Sicily, 1,971 in Abruzzo, 1,556 in the autonomous province of Bolzano, 431 in Umbria, 881 in Sardinia, 832 in Calabria, 549 in Valle d'Aosta, 262 in Basilicata and 209 in Molise.
