July 7 is the deadline for building damage assessment form requests
July 7, 2012Statement signed by the Head of Department yesterday
Yesterday, Wednesday, June 27, the Head of Civil Protection Department, Franco Gabrielli, in agreement with the President of Emilia Romagna - Deputy Commissioner, Vasco Errani, signed a statement setting out the deadline of July 7 for citisens to submit building damage assessment form requests following the earthquakes of 20 and 29 May.
One month after the event, this deadline reflects the need to obtain data on the overall state of residential buildings, thus permitting the subsequent phase plan to assist the population through the President of the Emilia Romagna region’s councils.
The damage assessment checks in post-earthquake emergency were carried out by teams of specially trained technicians. They started on May 26 and have submitted more than 18,000 forms which provide a preliminary and rapid assessment of buildings. They are based on simple visual analysis, and easily accessible information. This assessment determines whether, citisens can use buildings and remain reasonably protected from risks during a seismic crisis.
The evaluation granted to emergency phase post-earthquake building damage assessment Aedes forms (conforming to building standards and damage in emergency earthquake) is different to building standards conformity certificates, which are usually granted to constructions or modified constructions or use of buildings.
