Council of Ministers: state of emergency declarations and extensions

The Council of Ministers, which met today, 28 January, in Palazzo Chigi, declared a state of emergency for the protection of the surface and underground waters as well as the purification cycles in Puglia.
To complete civil protection measures, it also extended the state of emergency already declared for the public waste disposal sites in Manfredonia, in the Province of Foggia.
Other extensions have been made to protect the drainage basin of the rivers Ferreggiano and Sturla and the Marano Grado Lagoon, as well as to deal with the damage caused by weather conditions in Calabria and the hydrological problems in Cerzeto, in the Province of Cosenza.
