Re-arrangement of civil protection: new law now in force

As of today, the law no. 100 of July 12 2012 is in force: it converts with some modifications the decree law no. 59 of 15 May regarding the reorganization of the Civil Protection.
The legal measure, that amends the law 225/92 establishing the National Service, was published in the Official Gazette no. 162 of July 13 2012.
Discussed at the outset on April 13, the text, after being discussed preliminarily, was finally approved by Decree-Law in the Council of Ministers of April 30, after examination by the Unified Conference, and has passed the examination of the Chamber of deputies and Senate for the conversion into law.
The measure aims at strengthening the effectiveness of monitoring and emergency management.
