Simulation drill on fire risk at the Community Mechanism Induction Course

Today, 19 January, a simulation drill of the Community Mechanism Induction Course, was held today in Montelibretti. The course is organized by the lSA - the Firefighiting Institute of Rome, from 14 to 20 January. The training activity is dedicated to 26 operators and experts of civil protection of the 31 Countries of the European Civil Protection Mechanism, the programme of the Europena Commission that aims at strenghtening the response to national and international emergencies.

The event is organized by the Department, the institutional interlocutor of the European Commission, by Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna di Pisa, centre of excellence of sciences applied to the international crisis managament programme, and by the Departments of Fire Fighters, Public Resue and Civil Defence.

Participants were involved in a simulation drill on wood fire risk, with the contribution of the Fire Department, Guardia di Finanza, Carabinieri, National Forestry Corps, Army, various volunteers and the Civil Protection Deparment's staff.

The simulation drill represented an important occasion to discuss the various professionalism deployed, and was preceded by a visit of a Civil Protection Department's delegation of the training course last 16 January, for a further close examination of Italy's National Civil Protection System.
