European Year of Voluntary Work: civil protection initiatives held in July

 Organizations can adhere until June 13

Logo_anno_europeo_volontariatoIn the first half of July initiatives of the European Year of Volunteering in 2011, established by the European Union will take place in Italy. In particular, the Civil Protection Department has agreed with the Ministry of Labour - which coordinates the annual program - the implementation of initiatives of voluntary organizations of civil protection throughout the territory between 8 and 14 July.

The Civil Protection Department, together with the Regions and Autonomous Provinces, UPI - Unione Province of Italy, ANCI - National Association of Italian Municipalities, Uncem - National Union of Municipalities and Communities Public Montani National Council of Volunteers, voluntary organizations calls for protection calendar to attend this event, even more significant having regard to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy. You have until June 13 to join. 

Associations and local groups can launch initiatives for the prevention of risks in the area, including: events for the dissemination of the culture of civil protection involving the public, staff training, simulation exercises and monitoring of the territory within the AIB campaign for fire-fighting.

The Regions and the National Advisory organizations will send a form to fill out, in order to describe and detail the initiatives. The completed form must be forwarded to the Department of Civil Protection - Volunteer Service by mail (volontariato@protezionecivile.it) or fax (06 6820 2241) by June 13.

Once all proposals are collected, the Department will publish a schedule of activities throughout the country, updates on the project and useful material for the events.
