2012: the anniversary of the Civil Protection
2012 is a special year for civil protection. Twenty years ago, in 1992, with the law 225 the National Service of Civil Protecion was set up, whereas thirthy years ago, in 1982, the Civil Protection Department was established, of which the then Minister for the Coordination of Civil Protection could avail himself.
Therefore, not only a year of celebrations.
The Civil Protection Department has chosen to celebrate these events by looking at the future.
The anniversary offers the occasion to evaluate what has been done, but most of all, it represents an occasion of discussion among each and every component and structure of the National Service, in order to plan new objectives and activities.
The Department – with this spirit – invites territorial administrations and operating structures to start initiatives to discusso on specific civil protection aspects: seminars, meetings, debates. The more the events will gather contributions arriving from different people and different experiences, the more the growth of our system will be able fostered.
Any initiative proposed to the Department via e-mail at ufficiovol@protezionecivile.it will be marked by the 2012 logo.
To propose initiatives during 2012 and request the use of the logo it is necessary to send an e-mail to ufficiovol@protezionecivile.it.

Tomorrow's Civil Protection: institutions, voluntary work and citizens for safe communities

Description: discussion on every aspect of the Civil Protection and on the need of a new social pact among institutions, voluntary work and citizens. The appointment belongs to the meeting series inserisce organized by the association "Progetto Domani".
Expo Emergenze 2012 in Bastia Umbra

Description: Expo Emergenze is the biennial exposition on safety and emergencies organized by Umbria Region. This is the first 2012 initiative on the territory that promotes meetings and activities on safety, prevention and protection: an opportunity to reflect during the thirtieth and twentieth anniversary of the System.
Campionati di Sci della protezione civile: presentazione del logo

Description: The meeting held by the Head of the Civil Protection Department at the end of the civil protection ski championship was the first appointment to reflect on the thirtieth anniversary of the Department and the twentieth of the National Service of Civil Protection: the tradition sport event is an occasion for all the regional systems to meet and gather. Coordination, subsidiarity, voluntary work and active citizens are the main themes of the meeting. At the end, the Head of the Department presented the official logo for the celebrations of the two anniversaries.
