Seminar and relief exercises for assistance to the disabled
Establishing dialogue between relief operators and people to be assisted and elaborating and sharing general criteria for the activation of systems to alert and aid the disabled in maxi-emergency situations. These were the objectives of the seminar held on 9 December 2008, in the Civil Protection Department Auditorium in Via Vitorchiano.
The seminar was organised by the Civil Protection Department Offices for Health Risk, Volunteers and Press. Work opened with a welcome speech by Prof. Bernardo de Bernardinis, Vice Head of the Civil protection Department and a greeting from the President of the Paralympic Committee, Luca Pancalli. During the morning, the Head of the Civil Protection, Guido Bertolaso explained a report on the relationship between civil protection and disability.
Numerous talks during this one-day event by representatives from public institutions, associations and NGOs included presentation of a survey carried out by volunteers doing civil service with the Health Risk Service.
