The service for spreading civil protection awareness promotes, together with Regions, autonomous Provinces ald local boards, numerous initiatives among institutions and citizens. Also, it establishes and mantains a close relation, both strategic and operational, with the Ministry of Education, of university and research, in order to elaborate and create specific for student within compulsory school attendance age, of high-shools and universities. Projects must be targeted the approach of young people towards civil protection and teach them the rights and duties culture for the safety of human life, of environment and self-protection. I

The Service defines and create, together with other administrations and boards both public and private, pilot projects to test new methodologies to make citizens active participants of civil protection. It mantains relations with Italian universities that include degrees, PhD's and Master's on civil protection topics, evaluating possible collaborations with the Civil Protection Department.

Moreover, the Service  cura i rapporti con l'Ufficio Nazionale Servizio Civile nell'assolvimento degli obblighi che derivano dallo stato di ente accreditato presso l'Ufficio medesimo, individuando, elaborando e promuovendo progetti nell'ambito del settore della protezione civile, di intesa con gli altri Uffici del Dipartimento.

Infine, provvede al coordinamento ed alla corretta gestione dei progetti di servizio civile del Dipartimento della protezione civile, favorendo l'integrazione del personale selezionato all'interno degli Uffici.
