“Italy's earthquakes”: a touring exhibition on seismic risk in Pesaro
From 10 to 23 May the city of Pesaro will host “Terremoti d’Italia - Italy's Earthquakes”, the touring exhibition promoted by the Civil Protection Department to make people, most of all the young one, on seismic risk. The exhibition Lais part of the event "Pesaro and earthquakes. Prevention of seismic risk", organized by the Association of Engineers of Pesaro and Urbino.
"Italy's Earthquake" aims at boosting the citizens' active role in seismic risk prevention, in order to understand what causes an earthquake and know which actions need to be undertaken to reduce its effects through footage, documents and tools, but also with live experience. Two vibrating tables, projected to simulate the seismic movement, will in fact allow visitors to experience safely an earthquake and observe closely its effects.
States-General of Voluntary work
On 13-15 April in Rome, the States-General of Volunteers in Civil Protection will meet: 250 representatives of the complex world of voluntary work will have an occasion of analysis and discussion. The National Civil Protection meritorious service award can be received by any personnel from all State Administrations and forces, but also by volunteers nominated by administrations, organisations or member associations that have in any way helped people affected by severe emergencies or large-scale events.

2012: the anniversary of the Civil Protection
Twenty years ago, in 1992, with the law 225 the National Service of Civil Protecion was set up, whereas thirthy years ago, in 1982, the Civil Protection Department was established, of which the then Minister for the Coordination of Civil Protection could avail himself.
Therefore, 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of the Civil Protection Department and the 20th of the National Service of Civil Protection. In occasion of these anniversaries the operating structures and components that wish to hold initiatives on the territory to reflect upon what has been done and what can be done in the future can send their proposals to the Department.

Humanitarian emergency: reception of immigrants
The Opcm no. 3933 of 13 April 2011 established the assignment of delegate Commissioner to the Head of the Civil Protection Department, for carrying out all necessary interventions to deal with the state of humanitarian emergency throughout the national territory, following the exceptional influx of citizens arriving from North Africa.
