Hydrogeological phenomena
Hydrogeological risk is one of the major risks afflicting Italy. It is widespread and differs according to the geomorphological nature of the territory.
Landslides and floods are the most frequent hydrogeological phenomena, followed by coastal erosion, subsidences and avalanches. Numerous episodes of drought have caused widespread water emergencies in some of the areas of our peninsula over the last few decades.

Floods
The Italian territory is increasingly prone to floods, which may also occur even with a relatively normal rainfall.

Landslides
Landslides are very common in our country due to the orographic conditions and the young still growing geological conformation of the territory.
Avalanches
Avalanches occur when a mass of snow slides rapidly down from a steep slope towards the valley. The avalanche grows in size as it descends.

Winds and sea storms
Coastal erosions and rough seas
In a coastal and at the same time industrial country such as ours, there is a diffused problem of coastal erosion

Water crisis
Periods of very low rainfall have been recorded over the last few years, bringing about emergency water situations in a good part of the domestic territory.
