Terex 2010
From 25 to 28 November Italy hosts a large international civil protection drill:
“Terex 2010”, or the Tuscany Earthquake Relief Exercise. This drill, which takes
place in Tuscany in the area between Garfagnana and Lunigiana, entails simulation
of an earthquake of magnitude 6.4, similar to the one that struck this area on
7 September 1920.
These pages explain the goals, scenarios with the model of intervention and salient
moments from the drill. More in-depth information is also given about international
civil protection and seismic risk.
