“Civil Protection for families" is a publication which describes, with a few simple concepts, all risks linked to the italian national territory and shows correct criteria, methods and actions to take in case of small and great emergencies.

The publication is distributed in many Italian schools following the project that the Italian Civil Protection Department, the Ministry of Education, Universities and Research created for the distribution of the so-called Civil Protection ‘vademecum’.

During the first phase of the project, from 16 to 29 March 2006, schools in provinces whose municipalities are in  level 1 seismic area – following the classification in order n. 3274/2003 of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers – were involved. During the second phase, from March 26 onwards, other provinces were involved as well.

Officers from the Civil Protection Department, from the Ministry of Education, and from the interested regions and municipalities, illustrated the contents of the publication.
